College introduces many new experiences to students; it is during this time that students develop behaviors and habits that can affect them throughout their lives. Influences on dietary decisions made by college students have been well researched. However, the college foodservice system, one influencing factor, is evolving with the increase in student attendance and demands. The invention and use of meal plan systems by colleges and universities has added another variable that shapes the decisions and dietary behaviors of students. Regulations in meal plans can limit meal times, monetary amounts and number of meals allowed in a given time frame. The purpose of this pilot study was to examine the impact of a regulated meal plan system on students at a Midwest university. Students who utilized the college meal plan system were asked to c...
Over the past decade or so, digital video has seen an enormous increase in popularity as technology improves and both amateurs and professionals alike make the switch from film to digital. Along with an increase in camera hardware, compression software has been improved drastically, allowing users a variety of options for every potential situation. Perhaps one ofthe fastest growing codec categories is the group of camera RAW codecs. By removing the incamera processing associated with other codecs, RAW files allow the user more control over their images/footage at the cost of larger file sizes. I look at the technical and visual differences between some of the most standard codecs and CinemaDNG, perhaps the most popular RAW file type. I also outline a potential CinemaDNG workflow and look at the history of RAW file types and what lead t...
Late-adolescents experience significant changes when they leave their homes and live independently while pursuing a degree at colleges and universities. During this transition, overall health can be influenced by many factors including individuals’ dietary choices. Individuals in their twenties tend to gain weight faster than any other age group, showing importance in the foods that they choose to eat when transitioning to college. This study’s goal was to determine the perceived factors that affect freshman students’ food choices during their first year of college while obtaining their meals from on-campus dining facilities. This study applied a qualitative approach to collecting and analyzing its data. The results of this study revealed freshman students experience both internal and external factors that affected their food choices. ...
The purpose of this investigation was to present a statistical model to help rank top National Basketball Association (NBA) players of all time. As the sport of basketball evolves, the debate on who is the greatest player of all-time in the NBA never seems to reach consensus. This ongoing debate can sometimes become emotional and personal, leading to arguments and in extreme cases resulting in violence and subsequent arrest. Creating a statistical model to rank players may also help coaches determine important variables for player development and aid in future approaches to the game via key data-driven performance indicators. However, computing this type of model is extremely difficult due to the many individual player statistics and achievements to consider, as well as the impact of changes to the game over time on individual player p...

The object of this research, conducted between December 8, 1970, and August 27, 1971, was to assess the effect of pollution on benthic macroinvertebrates in Halfway Creek and the Mississinewa River at Albany, Indiana.Data related to macroinvertebrate composition, population density and distribution were obtained through the utilization of Surber and Coleman Pot Samplers. Physical and chemical characteristics were determined using Standard Methods to provide background data for the biological conditions encountered.Data from diversity and standard deviation indices were analyzed separately, and then combined to produce three pollution categories indicating degree of water quality degradation. The diversity index evaluated organically enriched situations but was inadequate in evaluating toxic chemical situations. The standard deviation i...
