La noticia acerca de que el agua potable escasea en los principales centros industrializados del mundo puso en señal de alarma a ciertos países latinoamericanos ricos en este recurso natural vital y estratégico. La advertencia está referida a que ahora el agua dulce brota como factor de controversias geopolíticas y que la puja por su posesión y usufructo podría adoptar distintas modalidades que van desde la privatización hasta los enfrentamientos armados. Se requiere de investigación de base farmacológica para optimizar el uso de las drogas antiparasitarias disponibles y preservar de manera sustentable en el tiempo aquellas moléculas nuevas que puedan desarrollarse. El Programa de Investigación que se desarrolla en nuestro Laboratorio desde el año 1992 ha contribuido con la generación de conocimiento original en la interfase de las disciplinas Farmacología y Parasitología Veterinaria.
El presente artículo es sólo un marco referencial que describe en forma esquemática los principales resultados obtenidos en la investigación fármacoparasitológica enunciada, abordando aspectos generales de las bases moleculares de la resistencia antihelmíntica e incluyendo el soporte bibliográfico necesario para la búsqueda de información más detallada en cada una de las temáticas que se discuten.

Taking into account that the knowledge of the processes from which a determined academic reality results makes up the fundamental basis for the choice of the right steps toward its future improvement, this work presents and analyze the processes that constitute the way traveled by studies on computer science at university level in Argentina. This way has not only passed through quick growth stages. On the contrary, several times it suffered from lethargy. After a bright beginning in the early sixties, thirty years after, in the early nineties, the university studies on computer science in Argentina constituted a true area of vacancy. In this paper, an intertemporal model is used to analyze the current account and test whether it accounts for the evolution of the Argentinean current account over the period extending from 1855 to 2002. The intertemporal model presented here takes into account several sources of external shocks for small economies such as a change of the real interest rate and the real exchange rate. Evidence shows that the intertemporal model does not pass the statistical tests and does not explain the Argentinean experience. More specifically, if the Argentinean current account was to behave as the model predicts, one would observe the opposite movement to that observed for the actual current account. Behaviour and survival of Psoroptes ovis var bovis and var ovis was study until mortality of 50 by hundreds, 90 by hundreds and 100 at outdoors conditions of La Plata city (Buenos Aires - Argentina), for one year. Survival in laboratory conditions was evaluated. The viability of eggs previously placed at constant temperature was evaluated. 14 days was stated as the maximun period wich the ovigerous female manteind the infectivity to a new host. 34 days of survival was found as the maximun at environment conditions and 30 days at 12 C constant. At outdoors conditions with temperature over 14 C, young mites may moult and the females can to lay eggs wich can incubate a new larva wich can born after it's mother died.
