The transgenic Tg2576 mouse is a widely used animal model that develops some of the cognitive and neuropathological deteriorations observed in patients suffering Alzheimer's disease. The authors investigated 9-month-old Tg2576 mice with respect to behavioral and endocrinological (hypothalamic- pituitary-adrenal [HPA] axis activity) parameters. The locomotor activity test revealed that Tg2576 mice moved almost twice as much as controls. Tg2576 mice spent significantly more time visiting the open arms and performed more entries into these open arms than did controls. However, the amount of time that Tg2576 mice remained in each entry to the open arm was similar to that of controls, and the number of arm entries correlated positively to locomotor activity. Contrary to popular belief, children educated
at home during the early years make better educational
progress than children educated at school (Rothermel
2002). However, even if this is recognised,
numerous educationists and Local Government officers
assert that home educated children are at risk of
developing psychological problems. This research used
the Revised Rutter Scale (RRS) and the Goodman
Strengths & Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) scales to
investigate whether home-educated children experience
psychological problems over and above what is
considered normal. The research involved 83 homeeducated

En este trabajo el objetivo general fue determinar la relación que el contexto familiar tiene con los valores percibidos por los adolescentes en sus personajes favoritos de televisión y con las horas dedicadas a su consumo. Los participantes fueron 1.238 adolescentes de 14 a 19 años, 545 hombres y 676 mujeres, de diferentes ciudades latinoamericanas, españolas, e irlandesas. Se utilizaron los cuestionarios CH-TV02 y Val-TV02. Los resultados muestran que los adolescentes en general perciben valores colectivistas más que individualistas, tanto en relación a la mediación parental como al clima familiar, aunque los adolescentes latinoamericanos perciben valores más conservadores y mayor restricción en sus progenitores. An experimental study of time-dependent Be´nard-Marangoni convection in small aspect ratio containers and
high Prandtl number fluids is presented. Two similar systems with the same aspect ratio, depth, and type of
fluid are compared: one with adiabatic lateral boundaries and the other with open boundaries. In spite of the
fact that very different plan forms and flows appear, both systems exhibit an oscillating plan form and a
discrete narrow-band frequency spectrum in the temperature signal, having the same threshold and similar
