To analyse the cis-requirements for RNA editing sites a newly developed in-vitro RNA editing system was employed. The cis-requirements for editing of atp9 site 1 in pea were investigated by templates deleted, sequence exchanged templates, and competition reactions. In the pea system, deleted templates in steps of 10 nucleotides between -40 to -20 edit correctly but with decreased efficiency, while deletions with less than 20 upstream nucleotides do not support editing. 3’ deletions have little effect in pea, suggesting little influence on recognition. Leukemia stem cells (LSCs) are likely to be the source for leukemic disease self-renewal and the cause for relapse of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) after treatment, and thus, a critical target for therapeutic options. This study established an efficient method to separate LSCs from AML samples and separated LSCs. Moreover we also tested HLA-I and co-stimulatory molecules expression on LSCs and investigated expression of LAAs in LSCs.
LSCs were separated from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) of AML patients using fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) and magnetic-activated cell sorting (MACS) according to their unique immunophenotype: CD34+CD38-. Andersen-Tawil syndrome is a triad of periodic paralysis, cardiac arrhythmias and dysmorphic features. The causative gene KCNJ2 encoding the Kir2.1 inward-rectifier potassium channel contributes to cell excitability and resting membrane potential in excitable tissues, including the heart, brain and skeletal muscle. To date more than 30 point mutations have been characterized, all involving residues that are highly conserved across all Kir channel subunits and that lie in functionally important domains of the channel. I have identified five additional mutations in the KCNJ2 gene: D78G, R82W, V93I, G215D, and G215R. Synthese der linearen Tetraproline
Die Synthese erfolgte hierbei nicht wie bisher über eine schrittweise Kettenverlängerung vom Monomeren zum Tetrameren, sondern über die Verknüpfung von zwei Diprolinresten. Der Syntheseplan wurde auf Basis der Benzyloxycarbonyl (Z) Schutzgruppe neu entwickelt. Dazu wurden die entsprechenden N-geschützten Diproline, wie Z-L,L-Pro2 oder Z-D,L-Pro2, durch Aktivesterkupplungen, hier p-Nitrophenylaktivester in Pyridin, in reiner Form synthetisiert. Anschließend wurden sie durch Hydrierung mit Palladium auf Aktivkohle in Methanol zu den freien Dipeptiden umgesetzt. Die für die weitere Kupplung benötigten Aktivester wurden aus den

This paper shows the potentialities of merging the MEMS and micromachining with SiGe technologies in order to speed up the performances of the next generation of front ends in terms of flexibility, reconfigurability and adaptability. MEMS technologies are presented based on BCB materials and BAW materials. Special attention is paid to ensure a full compatibility between IC and MEMS. We have

Nachdem der reflektorische Zusammenhang zwischen Vorderem Kreuzband (VKB) und Hamstringmuskulatur durch die Reflex Hamstring Contraction Latency (RHCL) bereits mehrfach nachgewiesen wurde, wurde in dieser Arbeit erstmals der Einfluss isolierter Meniskusläsionen, eines isoliert vorliegenden Syndroms der Plica mediopatellaris oder einer Kombination der beiden auf die RHCL untersucht.
19 Patienten mit isolierter Läsion der Menisken, 12 Patienten mit Syndrom der Plica mediopatellaris, sowie 7 Patienten mit kombiniertem Vorliegen von Meniskusläsion und symptomatischer Plica mediopatellaris (jeweils arthroskopisch gesichert) wurden präoperativ auf das Vorliegen einer RHCL untersucht. Ermittelt wurden hierbei Short- (SLR) und Medium Latency Response (MLR) sowie Tibiatranslation.

Maßgebend bei der Versorgung distaler Radiusfrakturen ist die Qualität der Reposition und Retention.
In der Nachuntersuchung von 35 Patienten mit distaler Radiusfraktur und begleitender Abrissfraktur des Ulnastyloids zeigten Patienten mit intraartikulärer Fraktur signifikant schlechtere funktionelle Ergebnisse. Patienten mit einer Radiusverkürzung über zwei Millimeter wiesen ebenfalls signifikant schlechtere funktionelle Ergebnisse und eine im Mittel um fünf Grad nach dorsal abgekippte Gelenkfläche auf.
Die Abrissfraktur des Processus styloideus ulnae dokumentiert eine Erfordernisfehlstellung und geht mit signifikant schlechteren Bewegungsausmaßen einher. Diese Patienten wiesen eine signifikante Abkippung der Radiusgelenkfläche nach dorsal auf.
